Overview:
The University of California Sierra Foothill Research and Extension Center (SFREC) is hiring an environmental science educator for a 3-year program to organize and deliver inquiry-based environmental science education programs serving the sierra foothill and northern Sacramento valley communities. The Center is located on 5,000 acres of oak woodland and grassland as well as over 5 miles of Yuba River, providing a number of opportunities to develop innovative and engaging field education programs. The incumbent will have the opportunity to work with and lead a team of natural resource educators to deliver programs that align with common core standards for elementary school students. In addition there will be numerous opportunities to develop environmental science programs for the broader community, including those active in the land conservation, natural resource and local agricultural communities. The successful candidate should show enthusiasm and a high capacity to lead diverse teams and develop new educational partnerships, as well as a strong ability to assess educational needs and opportunities for local communities.
