We are seeking a dynamic Environmental Education Specialist to work at our picturesque facility, Camp Fiver, where we take an experiential approach to learning by exploring camp's woodlands, wetlands, creek and lake.

Job Description
The Environmental Education Specialist is responsible for the administration and operation of Camp Fiver’s Environmental Education program, which provides educational instruction to campers between the ages of 8-14 during five 45 minute periods each day. The Specialist will implement existing Environmental Education curricula that offers participants a variety of opportunities to expand knowledge of nature and earth science. The camp’s beautiful 129 acre facility encompasses a creek, a lake, wetlands, fields and mountains, making it an ideal outdoor laboratory for hands-on, interactive learning!
Additional Qualifications
The Environmental Education Director should hold or be pursuing a degree in education, environmental education, or a related field. Prior teaching experience required. Summer camp experience preferred.
The Specialist must be a dynamic, energetic, compassionate and patient individual willing to work in a cooperative, team environment. They must have exceptional organizational skills and the unique ability to make learning a fun, engaging and rewarding experience.
All staff members will be given continuous support and training through Fiver’s staff development program, “Fiver U”. Staff will receive more than 50 hours of youth development training and professional development workshops.
Camp Fiver is located 45 minutes southeast of Syracuse, New York. The Specialist must be willing to live at or commute to our facility for all four two-week camp sessions, and one week of staff training prior.
