Arizona Institute for Resilient Environments and Societies (AIRES) at the University of Arizona is in search of an Environmental Education Program Coordinator (Student Support Coordinator II). The coordinator will collaborate with a dynamic environmental education team to facilitate the success of AIRES and campus-wide experiential, environmental education initiatives that align with the scholarly research and strategic initiative objectives of UArizona. They will also foster and maintain productive relationships among AIRES leadership - working closely with and reporting primarily to the AIRES Director for Education - and among relevant university and public engagement programs. They will help develop Arizona Environment’s student-focused brand by integrating and elevating the university’s wide-ranging environmental strengths in research, teaching, and student opportunities into a visibly unified program accessible to all students. Additionally, this position is responsible for coordinating and administering the Diana Liverman Scholars Program for undergraduate students and the Carson Scholars Program for graduate students, both with a focus on training effective communication and storytelling of environmental scholarship and action to broad audiences. They will also contribute to the marketing and communications of education programs internally within AIRES, at UArizona, and externally with the community – one objective being to foster donations and financial support for key AIRES education programs. This position will provide some administrative and logistical support to the Director of Education to help advance experiential education initiatives within AIRES and across UArizona.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastically committed to both the UArizona and AIRES missions, with experience in project management, science education, public and stakeholder engagement, broadening participation, and student support. Self-motivated, efficient, outgoing, collaborative, and flexible problem solvers will do especially well in this position.
