CELP is an outdoor overnight environmental education program for students in 4th-12th grade. Our location on the west end of Catalina Island allows us to teach lessons on ecology and sustainability while snorkeling in the kelp forest, kayaking, hiking, teambuilding and gardening. We are looking for qualified staff to lead groups of 10-15 students on week-long environmental education programs. CELP activities include day & night snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, ropes course, microscope lab, gardening, composting, campfires, astronomy, art in nature, tide-pooling and sustainable living lessons. Responsibilities include lesson planning, preparing program areas, leading day & evening activities and attending staff meetings. CELP instructors live and work at camp for the duration of the season. CELP instructors must have a Bachelor's degree in a Natural or Environmental Science or related field or significant experience in camps and education. Instructors must possess strong water skills, a commitment to environmental stewardship, and the ability to work with staff and students of all ages. CELP runs both Fall and Spring seasons.
