Overview:
The Engagement Intern will aid Partnership for the Delaware Estuary staff in several ongoing initiatives including collaborative work on programs like the Schuylkill Action network (SAN), the Delaware River Watershed Initiative (DRWI), and others. Additionally, the Engagement Intern will provide support for the Delaware River Festival, as well as provide assistance in compiling resources for teachers in the region.
**This position is temporary remote and will soon be hybrid remote/in-office**
JOB FUNCTIONS
-Assist with administrative tasks for collaborative initiatives like SAN, DRWI, etc.
- Draft and send email blasts using MailChimp and other similar platforms
- Draft meeting agendas, assist with meeting scheduling, and take meeting minutes
- Communicate with workgroups and subcommittees at the direction of supervising staff
- Update websites and social media accounts
-Provide assistance for engagement programs and events
- Order supplies and materials for programming
- Conduct research to identify existing environmental resources for teachers
- Create short videos and other environmentally-themed educational content for teachers
-Assist with additional in-office activities
- Work with staff on Philadelphia shell recycling program
- Reporting support
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 0-2 of experience working in environmental engagement
- Ability to assist with on-the-ground public programs, events and field projects
- Strong organizational and coordination skills, multi-tasking ability, and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse public and private constituencies
- Experience working in a team environment with staff, partners and volunteers
- Proficient in MS Office, and Google suites
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Valid United States driver’s license and ability to travel to external meetings as needed
WORKING CONDITIONS
Time spent in this position will be split between being in an office setting and external meetings. Occasionally, there will be tasks completed in a storage/warehouse facility or in field locations (outdoor, urban or rural settings). Work hours may shift dependent on the tides, partner schedules, and/or project assignment. Occasionally, there will be a need to work on a weekend day.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The incumbent should be able to lift 40 pounds. The incumbent should be able to sit and stand for at least 4 hours at a time.
