The Education and Outreach Director will have a unique opportunity to plan, develop, implement and expand Evergreen Audubon’s year-round nature education programs and oversee the daily operation of the seasonal Evergreen Nature Center, located in Evergreen, Colorado. In 2020, many of these programs had to be adapted to virtual platforms, which is anticipated for at least a portion of 2021. 

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelors in related field, Masters preferred.
• Demonstrated experience as a professional in the field of environmental education and conservation, including volunteer coordination.
• A solid knowledge of biology, natural history and nature education.
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
• Outstanding inter-personal communications skills and partnership building abilities.
• Familiarity with popular social media and ability to communicate on these platforms.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and be self-motivated and organized.
• Competent fiscal, personnel, and program management skills.
• Ability to understand and speak Spanish is desirable.
• Some experience in public relations and marketing.
• Some administrative, supervisory and fund-raising experience.
• High energy and sense of humor and adventure.
