Overview:
- Part-time, hourly (up to 20/hours per week) not to exceed $30k per year, with possibility of expanding to full-time

The Athens Conservancy is seeking a Development Coordinator. This person will be responsible for growing revenue from fundraising, membership, grants, and sponsorships to fund the work of the Conservancy.
- This position will solicit fundraising from private individual donors, including prospecting for and soliciting private donations, developing members, and growing the membership database.
- This position will identify and execute new opportunities for business membership or financial sponsorship of Conservancy projects. They will solicit sponsors, produce agreements, and create content to recognize sponsors.
- This work will require experience with identifying grant opportunities (state, federal, and private,) completing grant applications, and management of successful grant awards including documentation and reporting. The President and Executive Board will manage the execution of grant project work.
- This position will be expected to identify potential networking and partnership opportunities to raise the profile of fundraising for the Conservancy.
- This work may require travel to meet with Board Members, partners, funders, and sponsors as grants and sponsorships require.
- Participation will be required at monthly Board Meetings (the fourth Wednesday of every month at 7PM) and at key committee meetings to be determined.
- Professional development opportunities may be available to attend meetings, workshops, or conferences that provide opportunities for the Conservancy.
- This work requires use of a personal computer and home office, along with personal transportation. Mileage will be reimbursed at the Federal rate.
- This position will report to the supervisory committee.
Experience required:
- Building and managing relationships with donors, members, and sponsors
- Grant writing and management, including use of online application systems, and the production of narratives, timelines, supporting content, and budgets
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to work with little supervision
- Responsible time management to identify grant opportunities and produce applications to meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and time management to coordinate (meetings, phone calls, emails, etc.) with President and Executive Board, and Board Members, as needed to complete work

About the Athens Conservancy
The Athens Conservancy is a non-profit land trust. Our mission is to protect natural areas in Athens County, Ohio, and surrounding areas. We own and manage nature preserves and work with landowners to create conservation easements. Other activities include controlling non-native invasive plants, supporting outdoor recreation, public-service mapping, planning for land management on both private and public levels, and public education. Income comes from individual memberships, donations, grants, gifts, and small fundraisers, which goes towards fulfilling our mission.
Consultant or Freelance Opportunity
The Conservancy is open to considering proposals from consultants or freelance workers that fall within their budget. This type of working agreement would exclude aforementioned benefits.
