Overview:
Position Purpose
Under the supervision of the K-16 Conservation Education Coordinator, the Conservation Education Specialist will support the success and growth of the education department through participation in all facets of education and interpretative programming.
Responsibilities and Tasks
This position will:
- Assist the Education Coordinator and other staff in the development, enhancement and implementation of White Oak’s education and interpretive programs for K-16 students and adult audiences.
- Deliver education programs at Education Partner Schools and organizations, civic meetings and other groups.
- Collaborate with K-16 Education Partner teachers to assist in developing, delivering and evaluating K-16 curriculum.
- Create, enhance and deliver programming and activities for summer camps with seasonal camp staff.
- Work with, and assist in mentoring, education camp counselors, volunteers and interns related to educational activities and programs.
- Deliver exceptional interpretive and educational programs as part of White Oak guest experiences.
- Monitor key performance metrics and analytics to measure the success of educational efforts.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all guests during all education programs.
- Transport guests within and/or outside White Oak as required for education programs.
- Maintain equipment and facilities used by the education department.
- Other duties as assigned.
