Overview:
The Coastal Wetland Natural Resources Technician will provide visitor and customer service support and assist staff with implementation of research, education and stewardship programs. Job duties include answering phones, responding to public inquiries, orienting visitors to the Reserve, and issuing access permits. The Natural Resources Technician will also assist staff with collection and processing of water samples, maintenance of research equipment, setup and implementation of education and volunteer programs, minor facility repairs, landscaping, trail maintenance, and habitat restoration. This is a grant-funded position compensated at the rate of $14.93/hour (State Classification: Natural Resources Technician) with a projected term from April – late October 2019. Average 25-30 hours per week, with Saturday or Sunday weekly and some evenings required. Preferred qualifications: proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, basic knowledge of coastal wetland ecology, identification of plants and wildlife, experience with customer service, ability to use basic landscaping and carpentry tools, strong comfort level working in and on water, boating safety and first aid/CPR.
A valid driver's license is required.
