This season we are looking to hire a full-time camp host to help run our backcountry, off the grid, industrial kitchen during our "glamping" camping programs. These are traditionally 4-day programs, where guests stay overnight on our 90-acre property, complete with bath house, dining deck, large walk in tents, and kitchen. The camp host's primary duties are prepping for programs by grocery shopping and menu planning, preparing all guest and guide meals during programs, cleaning camp while guests are out on hikes, and post meal clean-up, and socializing with guests during their stay. We are looking for an experienced candidate to help standardize our menu and maintain our industrial kitchen to inspection standards.

Job Qualifications:

• Food service experience
• Cooking for large groups (15+)
• Customer service experience
• Ability to take initiative

Preferred Qualifications:

• Managerial experience in the service industry (especially experience passing health code inspections)
• Backcountry food handler experience
• Wilderness First Responder
• Experience guiding overnight wilderness trips
• Knowledge of Smoky Mountain flora, fauna, and cultural history

Position Responsibilities:

• Cooking for 15+ people for 4 day programs
• Pre-trip shopping and preparation
• Post-trip camp cleaning and maintenance
• Office and vehicle cleaning and maintenance

Season Dates: mid-March - end of October

Remuneration: hourly (DOE) + overtime + tips
