Overview:
The School of Sustainability at Arizona State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position, at the assistant professor level, in Sustainability Education expected to begin in August 2021. Applicants should have expertise in researching and teaching sustainability education, including, for example, sustainability competencies, pedagogies, methodologies, and learning assessments.
Applicants must be prepared to develop and implement a cutting-edge research and teaching program in sustainability education/education for sustainable development. Applicants must be able to demonstrate their commitment to justice, equity, inclusion and diversity issues related to sustainability education. Research on sustainability education could focus on areas such as K-12 education, higher education, life-long learning, community-based, and the nonprofit and business sectors. Education research related to transformative learning for sustainable futures, sustainable development goals, and/or applied solution-oriented approaches is desirable.
The position will include teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses as well as mentoring students, conducting research and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams within the school and across the university, supporting the development of courses and curricula, and performing school, university, professional, and community service.
