Assistant Manager of Programs and Operations

PUDDLESTOMPERS’ mission is to connect the youngest naturalists, ages 2 to 9 years, to the open spaces that surround their homes. By providing families with seeds of interest and tools of exploration, PUDDLESTOMPERS seeks to help build the foundation for lifelong enjoyment and love of the outdoors.
Responsibilities
This is a Full-time 40/hour a week position that includes teaching and office work. This position supports the Program Director in the following areas;
Teaching:
- Lead teacher at various campsites throughout the summer. Your teaching responsibilities will also include teaching at preschool enrichment programs, child/adult programs, afterschool programs, all school vacation programs (February, April, December, etc.).
- Teach some birthday parties that could fall on a weekend
Administrative Duties:
Programming:
- Curriculum development: creating and writing new lesson plans
- Assist in development and maintenance of STEM-based projects/experiments for drop-off programs
- Outreach to preschool, after schools, and park & recreation departments
- Participate with management in company growth and development strategies.
Operations:
- Update/Create Summer Camp Certification Binders yearly
- Track number of enrollments for each of our vacation programs throughout the year, maintain any waitlists, and occasionally register enrollees manually into our online account database
- Update and maintain our state-mandated Health Care Policy with all requiring towns’ Boards of Health
- Maintain Health Care Consultant & appropriate agreement documents
- Collaborate with staff on collection of camper Health Care forms for drop-off programs
- Collect state-mandated staff paperwork
- Co-Run Camp Training annually with Program Director
- Interface with customers via phone and email to help with registration
Information Technology:
- Support and troubleshoot the company’s hardware, software, network, and services.
- Assist in hardware and software evaluation and recommend upgrades and improvements.
Position reports to Program Director
Qualifications
- 2+ years of teaching experience (preschooler level a plus)
- General knowledge and/or interest in science/nature
- Responsible, organized, creative, and engaging
- Experience in outdoor education and/or degree in the sciences a plus
- College graduate
- Must have a car
Wage range: $21 - $22/hour, 40 hours/week
Compensation: Commensurate with experience plus benefits
