Kinderhaus, Decorah’s Waldorf-inspired outdoor preschool, is seeking an experienced teacher for our afternoon program starting August 2021. Must have experience with children during naptime, a warm and nurturing presence, and available Monday-Friday, 12 PM-5 PM.  We offer a competitive hourly rate and a comfortable and safe working environment. Afternoon Teacher

Requirements:

• Experience with young children
• Ability to maintain a safe, warm, and nurturing environment
• CPR and First Aid certified
• Willing to complete required professional development training

Preferred:

• Experience with nap/rest time in a preschool setting
• Experience in an outdoor classroom setting
• Knowledge of Waldorf Education

Hours:

• Monday-Friday 12 PM - 5 PM
• Some extra hours on evenings and weekends for conferences and family festivals
• Yearly schedule - August-May

Other duties:

• Cooperate and communicate respectfully with children, parents, and staff
• Set up for nap time
• Eat lunch with the children
• Attendance at family festivals, parent/teacher conferences, and weekly staff meetings
• Various cleaning/cooking duties when needed

Hourly rate:

• $12-13/hr
• Free tuition pending availability
