Qualifications and Experience:
We seek someone with leadership skills and creative vision to guide and set clear priorities and provide an animating force to take YVFP to its next level of impact, building on our successes and relationships, and ensuring that our funding resources continue to reflect our accomplishments and potential. Our ideal candidate is media-savvy, congenial, decisive, flexible and high energy and willing to travel locally to educational conferences and film festivals (always offsetting our carbon footprint).

This position requires strong writing, PR, administrative, organizational and supervisory skills; the ability to work both independently and with a team; flexibility; demonstrated strong oral communication and interpersonal skills; self-motivation; attention to detail; familiarity with MSWord, Excel, Internet browsers, social networking, new media and information and communications technologies; and a demonstrated interest in and passion for work that serves the public interest and the mission of YVFP. Fundraising experience a plus.

Responsibilities:
1.Communication and Organization: Outreach to groups linking to and using the YoungVoices for the Planet films (educational institutions, universities, youth, environmental groups,government agencies, conferences, bookstores and online sites) and facilitating screenings at workshops, film festivals, science centers, museums, international conferences, schools, libraries, theatres and other public venues. Many organizations such as National Geographic, PBS Learning Media, the UN Foundation, National Wildlife Federation and the U.S. Forest Service (ClimateChangeLIVE) include the films on their websites and in their webinars and programs. Our ideal candidate would help build more of these relationships.

Outreach to Schools,Teacher Resource Centers, Educational organizations to promote the integration of our Civics Engagement and Democracy Curriculum into the classroom.

Public Relations: Interfacing withTV, radio, newspapers, other media outlets and directly with journalists about the films and what kids are doing to make a difference. Helping to set up media interviews with the young people in our films.

Supervising anassistant who is responsible for scheduling film crews,making travel arrangements, obtaining location and personal releases, tracking production using Excel spreadsheets, uploading films through “Without a box", Youtube and DropBox, creating YVFP quarterly newsletters, updating media kit and website, providing film clips for film festivals and partners using Premiere, using social media, scheduling speaking engagements and film screenings and, with the help of our pro-bono law firm, facilitating the execution of contracts with partners, distributors, movie theatres, camera crews, editors and vendors; verifying that all media in films is licensed.

Collaborating closely with the Director and Board of Directors

Writing: blogs, reports, press releases and proposals for fundraising and development.

Using social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram)as a promotional tool.

Overseeing the creation of a Podcast series

Bookkeeping with Quickbooks.

Compensation, Hours and Location: This is a part-time position (3 day/ week) in the Hudson River Valley, NY State. Salary - $60,000/yr. (salary commensurate with experience. Possibility of evolving into a full-time job.)
