Overview:

Are you looking for an environment that values your experiences, abilities, creativity, and energy and will encourage you to use and discover the talents within yourself?  A career with Camp Fire opens the door to working with some of the most passionate, skilled, and knowledgeable people in youth development.

The Outdoor Education Program Specialist at Camp Fire Camp El Tesoro provides an opportunity to teach and provide a hands-on, experiential learning experience for a variety of participants in the outdoor camp setting.

Camp El Tesoro is located 45 minutes southwest of Fort Worth, Texas on 223-acres where Fall Creek empties into the Brazos River. Our natural surroundings provide a welcoming environment to reconnect, unplug, and focus.

Program Specialists work with a variety of clientele including Rental and Retreat groups facilitating outdoor recreational activities like high ropes, low ropes, archery, and canoeing who use El Tesoro as a place to connect with each other and use this opportunity to find their spark, lift their voice, and discover who they are.

Our Program Specialists also teach outdoor education programs for kindergarten through high school age groups.   Topics of instruction include aquatic studies, fossil hunts, weathering and erosion, and owl pellets.  School groups use Camp El Tesoro as an outdoor laboratory where students and teachers can combine their efforts and expertise to learn about and care for the natural environment. Knowledge gained through these hands-on outdoor learning activities and applications set the stage for a lifelong commitment to protect our environment and create solutions to the environmental challenges that arise.
