Overview:

The Education Program Coordinator plans, coordinates, and facilitates educational programs. The Coordinator researches, develops and evaluates curricula and teaching methods and assists the director in the operation of the Auer Marine Education Center and Estuary Edventures: including the internship program, husbandry coordination and community outreach. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Develops and manages enhancement/updates of existing program curricula. Evaluates programs and keeps accurate and relevant. Ensures age-appropriate programming
  • Facilitates EE field-trip and summer camp programs when needed
  • As needed, helps Director with field trip reservation request: processing, scheduling, invoicing and tracking.
  • Maintains Marine Education Center/Classroom. Participates in opening/closing procedures.
  • Oversees program quality. Manages program standards, updates, enhancements, and evaluations.
  • Assesses field-trip evaluations of program participants and identifies program needs.
  • Assist director with decision making, departmental planning, and administrative duties related to education programs and operation and development of departmental goals, objectives and action plans. Identifies emerging departmental needs.
  • Coordinates the education internship program and oversee quality. Manages marketing, hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling of interns. Develops and maintains existing and new local university relationships.
  • Assists director in hiring, training, and supervising education staff. Facilitates and supports a team-driven work environment. 
  • Manages registration software used for education programs. Learns and trains software as needed.
  • Serves as primary camp coordinator and administrator for camp programs, fields all questions. Develops camp programming.
  • Coordinates EE Summer Camp Scholarship program.
  • Helps with other programmatic needs as they arise.
