What was your favorite session?
Did you have one particular "Aha" moment?
What did you find most helpful about the conference?
Are there any immediate next steps you are going to take as a result of the conference?

I was not able to attend this year's conference, but I hope to connect further with those who did. Eager to hear your responses!

There were so many great presentations. One that was different but intriguing was on Environmental Violence and I’m interested in reading more about this subject as it relates to environmental justice and advocacy.

Thanks for sharing, Beth! This is definitely an important topic. I am currently reading about the Flint water crisis in Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha's book, "What the Eyes Don't See: A Story of Crisis, Resistance, and Hope in an American City." She references the correlation between spikes in lead exposure and spikes in violent crimes in communities. The NAACP has an Environmental Justice guide for teachers, that is a good starting point for bringing these topics up in the classroom. See below!
