Hello fellow environmental educators:
I was wondering if you could help me with a problem. I'm doing a program about an amphibian survey program (mudpuppies! they're great) which are bioindicators. It's station-based and I'd like there to be a station that demonstrates the concept/function of bioindicators, in a hands-on and brief way. I'm finding natural selection activities (pepper moth, etc.) which seem pretty close but I'm wondering if anyone has anything they've used to cover the concept.
Thanks in advance!
Luke
Bioindicator activity
Hi Luke,
This is a topic that I love teaching! I found an interesting activity provided by the National Park Service on bioindicators, but it may be too long for what you are looking for. Check it out at:

I hope others share their favorite bioindicator lessons!
